Snowy Mountain Models started life near Corryong, in the Northern Victoria high country, not far from the Snowy Mountains, hence the name.
In 1996 the Business was purchased by Stephen Watkins and Lynden Crowle and brought to Melbourne, were it is now situated, in one of the flattest parts of Victoria! Many times we have thought to change the name but as it was so well known, we decided to keep it.
Our main business started as strict Mail Order. It soon became apparent that being in Melbourne, many customers wanted to visit our store room (which was my garage at the time) and view the stock. So in 1999 we decided to open a shop to cater to the growing interest in our business. We have now been in our current location at Shop 13 Harrington Square, Altona since this time.
